After seeing Allison Robbert’s work recognized in College Photographer of the Year’s Interpretive Project category, I was immediately drawn to her artistic eye for capturing light, shadow, and form. This photo story, named Capitol Hill at the time, was a glimpse into the narrative of the US government— a topic often overshadowed by the theatrics of political campaigns.

With Allison’s help, I culled photographs from her time on assignment in DC and created an edit of her photographs.

I found that a book mockup would be the best way to present this, as the experience allows viewers to spend time with the work as they please.
