My love for photography started when I was very young, with my elementary school math teacher, Mr. Croushler, whose interest in photography compelled him to start a seminar teaching basic compositional skills. It was offered during our precious lunch hour for just a few weeks and using a little point and shoot from my mom, I decided to sacrifice that time for this new fascination.
I am currently pursuing a BFA in Photojournalism at the Rochester Institute of Technology, and have experience in still photography, audio, video, and text reporting. My work is focused on the relationships people have and build with their communities. In an ever-changing, unpredictable world, I often find myself drawn to stories of optimism, and I aim to spread joy and diversity with each piece I create.
In my free time, I enjoy listening to music, making new meals out of leftovers, and FaceTiming my family.
Hello! Iām Caitlyn.
