My love for photography started when I was very young, with my elementary school math teacher, Mr. Croushler, whose interest in photography compelled him to start a seminar teaching basic compositional skills. It was offered during our precious lunch hour for just a few weeks and using a little Canon point and shoot from my mom, I decided to sacrifice that time for this new fascination. From then on, I dragged my family along to local public parks, using stuffed animals, Legos, and other toys as my very first subjects.
I’m a proud student member of the Asian American Journalists Association (AAJA), and the current Secretary of RIT’s chapter of the National Press Photographers Association (NPPA). Not only have I gained experiences and knowledge from all the talented storytellers I have met through these organizations, but I’ve grown enthusiastic to create work of my own. Witnessing the joy and appreciation within these communities, where colleagues inspire and uplift each other, keep me anticipative towards the next exciting step in my career.
