Portrait by Travis LaCoss
My curiosity for documentation began at a young age, when I would spend hours on my grandparent’s floor sifting through boxes of photo albums, letters, vinyl records, drawings, tickets, and other keepsakes. I would ask questions, piecing together the stories of my family which hides in these decades-long media collections.
This practice informs my work today, which involves community and the people within them. I also find myself drawn to stories of optimism, amplifying joy and diversity with the art I create.
I am currently pursuing a BFA in Photojournalism at the Rochester Institute of Technology and have experience in still photography, audio, video, and text reporting.
In my free time, I enjoy listening to music, cooking new meals out of leftovers, and filling my sketchbook.
